My husband and I went to Houston for the 4th of July this year because my entire family was in town, which rarely happens since everyone lives in different cities. When we all get together under one roof it is pure chaos, in the best way possible. It is pretty much an abundance of drinking, eating, singing, making fun of everyone, trying to keep track of babies and dogs, drinking more, eating more...wake up and repeat.
My older sister, Amy, and her husband, Robert, had the family over to their house on Friday for a cookout. I helped Amy make these ribs and they were probably the best ribs I've ever had. They are so tender and packed with flavor, It involves roasting the ribs in the oven, then throwing them on the grill for 20 minutes right before you're ready to serve. You can do all of it in one day, or do the majority of it 1 or 2 days in advance (noted in the directions below). Do yourselves a favor and make these for your next cookout/tailgate/Monday night Bachelorette watching parties/etc..
